On March 22nd, West Essex High School had the pleasure of hosting the 2022 North Jersey Region Concert Band Festival. The day's events consisted of performances from 10 visiting ensembles, along with our two West Essex bands. Todd Nichols, Director of Bands at Rutgers University, and John Palatucci, renowned euphonium soloist, were brought in to adjudicate the event. Our West Essex Concert Band performed "Air for Band" by Frank Erickson, and "March of the Belgian Paratroopers" by Pierre Leemans. The West Essex Symphonic Winds performed "October" by Eric Whitacre and "Mother of a Revolution" by Omar Thomas. Our bands played well and received bronze and silver ratings, respectively.
