On the 27th of September, the West Essex Chinese Club went to a Chinese Arts and Culture Workshop hosted by Rutgers University. The workshops consisted of several different stations showcasing Chinese culture and arts. The stations included activities such as Chinese calligraphy, water and ink painting, paper cutting, kung fu, traditional instruments and a lot more.

Each station gave Chinese Club members a hands on experience of the unique culture of China, which is what the Chinese Club strives to teach West Essex. These experiences are vital, as they allow members to experience what a textbook can’t offer. Some club members practiced Martial arts and Lion Dance, as well as some other hands on crafts. The members enjoyed having a firsthand view of Chinese culture, helping them gain a better worldview.

During the event, a raffle was held, and Jack Rombough, a member of the Chinese club won the raffle, winning a CIRU t-shirt! What a fun day!
