The Symphonic Winds ensemble have been very fortunate to have Mr. Bruce Yurko conduct and rehearse them three times this year.  The Symphonic Winds played Mr. Yurko's piece, Night Dances, in the fall and he came in to conduct the group and rehearse with them before their performance. He returned after winter break to work on another one of his pieces, In Memoriam: Kristina, which they will be performing at Carnegie Hall on March 16th

According to the band director, Mr. Anthony Fabrizio, the students are very fortunate to work with a living composer who is very well known and successful internationally.  Mr. Yurko travels all over to work with some of the best professional and high school groups.  He will be in attendance a the Carnegie Hall performance. Mr. Fabrizio states that "we have established a relationship with him that will endure for years to come in our band program."
