Dr. Pauline spoke extensively with students about beginning a career in sports management. She discussed her vast experience in the field, including her work with the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Big East Conference, in addition to her expertise in the areas of event management, pedagogy, and women in sport. During her visit, Dr. Pauline provided helpful tips and advice to students considering a job in the sports management industry, and even offered to connect students with sports professionals.

Down the hall in Ms. Cristina Pivetta’s Italian Club meeting, students were visited by former club Vice President Daniel Martire ‘22 who delivered a presentation entitled “What I Wish I Knew About Italian.” His extensive lecture was engaging and exciting as he discussed his postsecondary education, including trips taken to Italy, starting an Italian Club at his college, and reconnecting with his Italian heritage. For Daniel, his presentation was focused on one key point: “You get what you put into it!” This phrase inspired Daniel to hone in on his Italian studies, becoming a fluent speaker. His love for foreign languages did not stop with Italian, as he is now studying Spanish. His dedication to foreign languages earned him an Internship in Buenos Aires, managing a nonprofit NGO that helps children in poverty.

Thank you both for visiting West Essex!
