Kaya Gerdes ‘25 Artwork Chosen to be Exhibited in AANJ Emerging Artists Exhibition
Kaya Gerdes' artwork was chosen to be exhibited in the Art Administrators of NJ Emerging Artists 37th Annual High School Exhibition at the James Howe Gallery at Kean University!
At the closing awards reception, Kaya received honorable mention for an interpretative self portrait created in Studio Art III Honors. This selection was sponsored by Supervisor of Arts, Ms. Lisa Swanick and High School Art Teacher, Ms. Erica Lescota. Kaya's piece is one of only five honorable mentions awarded out of thirty three submissions from twenty four participating districts. This honorable mention came with a cash prize, a certificate of achievement and a bid to submit a portfolio for a chance to be chosen as the Governor's Award winner; the highest honor for the state of NJ! Congratulations Kaya!
