Madelin Morales was recently named a 2019  US Presidential Scholar in the Arts.


The U.S. Presidential Scholars award is one of the nation's highest honors for high school students who exemplify academic excellence.  The award is presented on behalf of the President of the United States and honors up to 161 Graduating seniors. These students are selected based on academic and artistic excellence, leadership qualities, and community service.  Students apply through the YoungArts organization to The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.

During the application process, candidates are asked to select a teacher or instructor who has influenced them most significantly during their journey.  Madelin selected Ms. Donna Mateyka! Congratulations to Madeline and to Ms. Mateyka for her dedication and commitment to the success of her students.
