Pimentel-Tiana
Tiana Pimentel - The Arts
Tiana plays an important role in the music department as the drum major for the marching band. Her dedication and enthusiasm are contagious. Tiana also plays a big role in the arts, as a student in AP Drawing, Studio Art, Fashion and Computer Graphics this year. She was recently accepted into the National Art Honor Society as well. Tiana's artwork has depth, and the imagery is mature and powerful, which is not often achieved by students of her age. She is continuously perfecting her craft outside of school, and it shows. Tiana should be commended for her hard work so far this year.

Perez-Victoria
Victoria Perez - Leadership
Tori not only organized a "senior flash mob dance" for the entire senior class for color day (even teaching the different gym classes and sending videos to everyone so they could be involved), but she has also been an integral part of the outreach we are doing with the new students. As a peer leader, Tori offered to serve as a commissioner, working not only with her Freshmen group, but also to reach out to some of the new students to the district (10th-12th grade). She specifically has been meeting with two students that speak no English that recently arrived to West Essex from Ecuador. As a Spanish speaker, Tori has been able to connect with them and help introduce them to other Spanish speakers. Overall, Tori should be commended for her initiative and her leadership. She is always going above and beyond, making all the students feel welcomed.
Khalil
Noah Khalil - Service to the Community
Noah is an excellent peer leader. Not only is he helping to reach out to the Freshmen students in his group, he is also reaching out to other new students in the district. In fact, I recently asked Noah for help with one 11th grader that is really having trouble adjusting. Noah showed up right away to help out by talking to the student, showing him around, and he has even stayed during lunch time to eat with him and keep him company. He is going above and beyond which is exactly the kind of peer leader that we need. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I believe he serves as a positive role model to the students at West Essex HS.

Kardash-Maria
Maria Kardash - Academics
Maria is an excellent peer leader. Not only is she helping to reach out to the Freshmen students in her group, she is also reaching out to other new students in the district. She is going above and beyond which is exactly the kind of peer leader that we need. Maria is also a breath of fresh air when she walks into any room. She is always positive, ready to help out, and always has a kind word to offer. Maria is also a high achiever academically with challenging and rigourous course schedules throughout her highschool career. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and I believe she serves as a positive role model to the students at West Essex HS.

Aschenbach-Halle
Halle Aschenbach - Athletics

Halle Aschenbach is an incredible 3 sport (Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse) athlete here at West Essex. She is serving her 2nd term as captain of my Field Hockey team, and she was captain of her Basketball team in the winter, and will be captain in the spring for lacrosse. She has already been named a player to watch in NJ by both MAX hockey AND by NJ.Com.
Halle was named to the 2019, and 2020 Star Ledger - Group 2 State All- Star Team, and All Conference and All County Teams. In fact, Halle started earning athletic honors on selection athletic teams as early as her freshman year. She has been a leader on the athletic fields since the first day she played for me, when she earned a starting spot as a freshman.
She has won 3 State Championships in her 3 years and played in 2 TOC game championships.(covid kept the TOC cancelled last year)=9p Halle is one of the highest award winning and respectful players I have ever coached. She goes above and beyond to earn the trust and admiration of her teammates.
Halle will be attending Temple Univesity next year on a field hockey scholarship.
