Jazz Workshop with Alphonso Horne

On Wednesday, April 10th, the West Essex Jazz Ensemble traveled to New York City to participate in a jazz workshop with Alphonso Horne, a renowned trumpetist. The band had the opportunity to observe an open rehearsal with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JALCO). While observing the rehearsal, the students were able to ask the JALCO members questions, work with the musicians, and receive advice from them as they continue their musical journey. This musical opportunity was sponsored by the West Essex Band Boosters.
