The Marching Knights are the Pride of West Essex. As one of the top marching bands on the East Coast, the Marching Knights continually put on shows that are creative, entertaining, and inspiring. Whether it is performing at football games, competitions, or parades, the Marching Knights always draw a crowd due to their excellent musicianship and crisp visual presentation.

The Computer Science Society will expose a diverse range of West Essex students to computer science and computer-related careers. It will help students understand up-to-date computer technology, review current hardware and software products, explore different areas of interest in technological advancement, and create a social environment where students can share information.

Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) provides opportunities for students to develop skills in the areas of vocational understanding, leadership development, civic consciousness, and social intelligence. DECA is an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management, and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality and marketing sales and service. DECA provides leadership, career development and competitive event conferences, as well as scholarship opportunities. Always developing future leaders in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. West Essex Esports competes at the varsity and junior varsity level in a variety of video games from our in-school arena— including Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Super Smash Brothers, and Valorant. As members of the Garden State Esports League and High School Esports League, players commit time to practice and compete during one to three distinct competitive seasons. We also have non-playing positions available for aspiring broadcasters, producers, managers, and more!

The WE Fashion Club will provide students interested in fashion a forum to learn more about the fashion industry and create projects based on current fashion trends. The club will be channeling their interests in the clothing-related service projects within the community as well.

The Film Club meets to explore and discuss the world of film as an insight into art and human nature, to imagine extraordinary worlds and stories and compare them to our own–to broaden our horizons–to celebrate cinema.

WE GlamourGals is a club where West Essex High School students connect with residents at local senior care centers through friendship, conversation, and fun beauty makeovers. The club regularly visits Sunrise of West Essex, where students spend time talking, laughing, and getting to know the residents while offering complimentary makeovers such as painting nails, light makeup, and simple hairstyling. These visits create a welcoming and uplifting environment where everyone feels valued and confident.

The experience is meaningful for both groups: residents enjoy companionship, increased confidence, and a stronger sense of community, while students develop leadership skills, empathy, and the satisfaction that comes from giving back. For students who enjoy helping others, making new friends, and spreading positivity, WE GlamourGals offers a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference. HarmoKnights, the co-ed acappella group at WEHS, is open to any student who is currently enrolled in choir, band or orchestra. As this music is exclusively acappella, it is more challenging than the music for the school ensemble choir class. The group meets Wednesdays from 2:45-4:15. This group performs at the two major Choir Concerts each year, as well as various other functions.

The purpose of the Investor’s Club is to educate its members about the world of investing and the variety of investment opportunities through engagement with professionals and participation in investment simulations and field trips in order to promote wise personal investment decisions.

Masquers of West Essex is the high school theatrical production club open to students in grades 9-12, which produces two shows a year (one play and one musical).

The Wessex Wire is the student newspaper of West Essex High School. Students write, edit, and layout four issues a year.

Orchestra is an after school music program that provides students opportunity for performance in addition to HS Orchestra Class. There are two ensembles at WEHS: String Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra. Participation in the groups is determined by audition and enrollment in the orchestral program is not a prerequisite. These groups perform a more varied repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the Contemporary.

The club consists of students from grade levels 9-12 who design projects and participate in a variety of local and national robotic competitions. These competitions include The Panasonic Design Challenge, First Tetrix's, Vex First Robotics, North Jersey Robotics Competition, Rocket America and Zero Robotics MIT. Students interested in engineering and architecture find this club challenging.

Roundtable meetings consist of work-shopping student writing and evaluating student submissions, as well as laying out the magazine for publication and subsequent distribution.

SADD’S mission is to empower students to successfully confront the risks and pressures that challenge them throughout their daily lives.

Students who take part in Student Council, are given the opportunity to represent their fellow classmates on many school issues. Students will go through the campaign and election process. Should they succeed, they will become part of a group that is the students voice, giving feedback to the administration. Members of the student council are also responsible for being the face of the school and volunteering time to organize and attend school events and fundraisers.

The Women in Business Club is a new student organization beginning in 2026. Those interested should contact Ms. Suzanna Duby for more information. 

The mission of the Women in STEM Club is to build a welcoming and inclusive community that empowers students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, architecture, and design through hands-on projects, real-world experiences, mentorship, and collaboration.

The club seeks to connect students with women working in STEM fields, provide opportunities for career exploration through guest speakers, field trips, workshops, and competitions, and encourage creative problem-solving using tools such as CAD, Revit, and Inventor.

While the club focuses on highlighting and supporting women in STEM, it is open to all students. It is committed to fostering an environment rooted in respect, teamwork, shared leadership, and curiosity where every member’s ideas are valued, and everyone has a voice.

The Milestone Yearbook is West Essex High School's premier student publication. Each year, the Yearbook Committee works to highlight the school year in a lasting way. The Milestone keeps the memories of West Essex Regional High School alive and always promises to be an amazing publication every year. Students are responsible for photography, layout, content, art and editing.
