The New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA)

The New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) is administered every May to 11th grade students. Beginning with the Class or 2024, students must pass both the Math and ELA sections of the assessment to meet the state's graduation requirement. The Math section consists of 2 Units (90 min. each), and the ELA section consists of 2 Units (90 min. each).

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA)

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) returned in Spring 2022. Students in the following grades/subjects will be required to take the NJSLA in May:

  • ELA 7-9: 2 Units, 90 minutes each

  • Math 7,8: 3 Units, 60 minutes each
  • Math - Grade 9 (Algebra I or Geometry): 2 Units, 90 minutes each
  • Science 8: 4 Units, 45 minutes each
  • Science 11: 4 Units, 60 minutes each

*Note: Times do not include IEP/504 Extended Time accommodations)
